ALUMINET WORKS WONDERS!

We ordered the Aluminet shade after learning that our "greenhouse" was actually a "hot house". We are novices, my husband picked out this clear walled greenhouse, we got it set up with a temperature sending unit so we could monitor the greenhouse temps from the house. It was early spring, so we thought we had time to figure out what to do in the heat of summer. WRONG!!! The weather here went from cool 70ish to over 90 degrees F. in one day. Temps in our green house reached 110 degrees plus. Some quick net research let us to Greenhouse world where we could get Aluminet shading for less than half of what most others offered, complete with seamed edges and grommets. The order arrived before they said it would, but because of a busy life and lower temps, we didn't have to install it until just a few days ago. Within a couple of minutes of putting it on the "hot house", the temp @ 97 degrees plunged to 95. We had too many things to do to continue watching the temps but they remain several degrees below outside temps. I'll try to get better verification of the differences. We weren't sure how it would work with the automatic vent but it is working just fine. The plants are all still producing and we are hoping it will help up maintain winter temps as dramatically as it helps with summer temps. I am attaching pics of our adventure which is still in development with theories being abandoned or accepted. The main form of insect control is our chickens so we have to find ways to outwit their tendencies to do what chickens do. The net is loose to accommodate the vent, which you can see is closed in the morning and open later on. Thanks again. L.B.
